The Ligier JS31 was a Formula One car designed by Michel Tetu and Michel Beaujon for use by the Ligier team in the 1988 Formula One World Championship. It was powered by the new, normally aspirated, 3.5-litre Judd CV V8 and ran on Goodyear tyres, driven by Rene Arnoux and Stefan Johansson. It was the first non-turbo Ligier since the JS21 of 1983 and proved very uncompetitive, chiefly for lack of downforce; neither driver qualified for the French Grand Prix, and the team scored no points in what was its worst season since 1983.
