The Ligier JS27 was the Formula One car used by the French team Ligier to compete in the 1986 season. It succeeded the JS25, which had taken the team to sixth in the Constructors' Championship the year before, and it continued a line of JS-numbered cars named in memory of Jo Schlesser, killed in the 1968 French Grand Prix. The team had been created by the former racing driver Guy Ligier and had entered Formula One in 1976; the JS27 belongs to the middle years of that history, before the redesigned cars of 1987 and the normally aspirated cars that followed.
