Leyland Lion PSR1

The Leyland Lion, coded PSR1 (or LPSR1 in left-hand drive), was a bus chassis made by Leyland as its first production rear-engined single-decker, announced in 1960 though the first two were built in 1959. It was the third of five Leyland bus models to carry the Lion name. Having spent heavily on the Atlantean transverse rear engine and Z-drive transmission, Leyland looked for more uses for them and combined the Atlantean power pack with a Royal Tiger Worldmaster chassis frame, giving a layout like North American transit buses with luggage space under the floor. Sales were low by Leyland standards, 56 LPSR1 and 28 PSR1 up to 1967.
