The Lancia Trevi, Type 828, first sold as the Lancia Beta Trevi, was a three-box saloon built between 1980 and 1984. It was developed from the Lancia Beta, whose interior it shared, and was presented at the Turin Auto Show in May 1980, reaching the United Kingdom at the Birmingham Motor Show that November. It had transversely mounted twin-cam four-cylinder engines driving the front wheels, MacPherson strut suspension all round, rack and pinion steering and a five-speed gearbox as standard. A supercharged Volumex version was added in 1982 as the most powerful model. The name comes from the Italian Tre Volumi, meaning three-box, and the Beta name was dropped from it in 1983.
