The Lancia Fulvia is a car produced by Lancia between 1963 and 1976, introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 and named after the Via Fulvia, a Roman road from Tortona to Turin. It was built in three variants: the Berlina four-door saloon, the two-door Coupe and the Sport, a fastback coupe designed and built by Zagato on the Coupe floorpan. Antonio Fessia designed the Berlina as a front-wheel-drive replacement for the Appia, powered by a narrow-angle DOHC V4 engine mounted well forward at a 45 degree angle, starting at 1,091 cc and 58 CV. Fulvias won the International Rally Championship in 1972, and Road and Track called it a precision motorcar and an engineering tour de force.
