Lancia Flaminia Sport and Supersport

The Lancia Flaminia Sport and Supersport are coupe versions of the Lancia Flaminia built with Zagato bodies, offered from 1958 and kept in Lancia's price list until 1968. The Sport made its official debut at the Turin motor show of November 1958 beside the saloon and the two door models of Pininfarina and Touring; where the Pininfarina coupe was a luxurious car and the Touring a compromise between luxury and sport, the Zagato car was a plainly sporting machine. It was low and sleek, with a long bonnet, a short tail, headlamps under plexiglass covers on the first cars and the twin roof bubbles typical of Zagato cars of the period. The wheelbase was shortened to 252 centimetres against 287 for the saloon, the 2.5 litre V6 gave 119 horsepower against 102, and Lancia claimed a top speed of 190 km/h against 160. Later versions added three carburettors, a 2.8 litre engine and finally the Supersport body.
