The Lancia Delta HF was a Group A rally car built by Lancia for the Martini Lancia team to compete in the World Rally Championship. Based on the Delta road car, it replaced the Delta S4 and was introduced for the 1987 season. It scored 46 WRC victories and won the constructors' championship a record six years in a row from 1987 to 1992, with drivers' titles for Juha Kankkunen in 1987 and 1991 and Miki Biasion in 1988 and 1989, making Lancia the most successful marque in WRC history. The line ran from the Delta HF 4WD through the HF integrale 8v of 1988 and the 16v of late 1989 to the Evoluzione of 1992; its transverse front-mounted layout limited servicing access and it was nose-heavy. Lancia officially withdrew from rallying after 1991 and the semi-private Jolly Club ran cars for two more seasons.
