The Lancia D25 was a racing car built by Lancia of Turin in 1954 and 1955. Finding the 3.3 litre D24 too weak against its rivals, Lancia designed a 3.7 litre engine named D25, which first raced fitted to a D24 at the Porto Grand Prix on 27 June 1954. The programme advanced slowly during a difficult year for the company, and development stopped after a disappointing Tourist Trophy. A D25 driven by Eugenio Castellotti reportedly won the Bologna-Raticosa hill climb. In early 1955 a special example with a lower, wider Pininfarina nose was begun for Alberto Ascari's plan to enter the Carrera Panamericana, ended by his death and the race's cancellation.
