The Lancia 2000, Tipo 820, was the last car Lancia's own engineers designed before Fiat took over the marque in 1969, and it replaced the Flavia in 1971. It came as a saloon and as a Pininfarina-bodied coupe, the latter also sold as the 2000 HF, and it kept the Flavia's front-wheel drive, 1,991 cc four-cylinder boxer engine, independent suspension and disc brakes all round. Power was 115 hp with a carburettor or 125 hp with Bosch electronic fuel injection, marked by an i.e. badge, with a four or five-speed gearbox. Fiat doubted its high production costs, which delayed the launch, and 14,319 saloons were built. Many Lancia enthusiasts call it the last real Lancia.
