Kamov Ka-62

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Kamov Ka-62 is a Russian medium twin-engined civil helicopter developed by Kamov from the military Ka-60 Kosatka. Unlike Kamov's coaxial designs it has a single main rotor with a ducted, multibladed tail rotor, and its airframe makes wide use of polymer composites, up to 60 percent by weight. It seats 15 passengers, carries two tonnes of cargo inside the cabin or up to 2.5 tonnes on an external sling, and has a maximum takeoff weight of 6,800 kg, a maximum speed of 310 km/h and a range of 700 km. It is powered by two Ardiden 3G turboshaft engines. Flight tests began in 2017 with three prototypes, and Rosaviatsiya issued a Russian type certificate on 30 November 2021; development and certification were later suspended because of its dependence on Western-made components.
