Kamov Ka-137

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Kamov Ka-137 is an unmanned multipurpose helicopter built by Kamov, first designated MBVK-137. It was designed for reconnaissance, patrol, police and ecology work, emergency response and data transmission. Three versions were made: one ship-based, one automobile-based and one carried aboard the Ka-32 helicopter. The aircraft has a tailless, sphere-shaped fuselage with four-leg leaf-spring landing gear, and a piston engine drives its coaxial rotor system. Sensors and other equipment sit in a special equipment compartment. The source lists a gross weight of 280 kg, a 50 kW Hirth engine and a top speed of 175 km/h.
