The Kamov Ka-10, with the NATO reporting name Hat or Hattie, was a Soviet single-seat observation helicopter that first flew in 1949. It developed Nikolay Kamov's earlier Ka-8, whose success let Kamov set up his own design bureau in 1948. It kept the Ka-8 layout of an open steel-tube structure carrying the engine, the pilot's seat and two three-bladed coaxial rotors, but was larger, with a revised transmission and rotor hub and a new 41 kW Ivchenko AI-4 flat-four engine. Soviet Naval Aviation evaluated three further prototypes, and on 7 December 1950 one made the first Soviet helicopter landing on a ship deck. Twelve Ka-10M were built in 1954 for the Maritime Border Troops.
