The Jeep Commander, called the Jeep Meridian in India, is a mid-size crossover SUV that Jeep has produced since 2021. Based on the second-generation Compass and lengthened for three-row seating, it is offered mainly in emerging markets such as Latin America and India, and is also marketed in Japan. It debuted in Brazil on 27 August 2021 on the Small Wide global platform shared with the Compass and reached India in April 2022, positioned above the Compass. In Brazil it was claimed to be the only D-segment SUV built there, and there it comes with a 1.3 litre turboflex petrol engine of 185 PS with front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic.
