Jaguar XK150

Automobiles

The Jaguar XK150 was a sports car produced by Jaguar from 1957 to 1961 as the successor to the XK140. It was announced in May 1957 first as a fixed head coupe and a drophead coupe, with the open two-seater joining in 1958, and it was visibly revised with a one-piece windscreen, a higher and more streamlined wing line and a wider bonnet. The 3.4-litre twin-cam straight-six produced 180 bhp in standard form and up to 250 bhp in S form, and in 1960 the 3.8-litre engine from the Mark IX saloon became available, with four-wheel disc brakes as an option. Special equipment models with disc brakes arrived in the spring of 1958 after a delay caused by the February 1957 factory fire. The E-Type was announced in March 1961 as its replacement.
