The Jaguar R2 was the Formula One car with which the Jaguar team competed in the 2001 World Championship. Eddie Irvine drove it in his second year with the team, alongside Luciano Burti, who was replaced by Pedro de la Rosa after four Grands Prix. After a disastrous 2000 debut season the car was more conservative and reliable, and the team finished eighth with nine points, including Jaguar's first podium at Monaco. It was the last Formula One car to run on Texaco fuel. Off the track the season saw an apparent deal with McLaren designer Adrian Newey fall through, and the R2 was succeeded by the R3.
