Isuzu Elf

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Isuzu Elf is a medium duty truck that Isuzu has produced since 1959 and that is sold outside Japan as the N-Series and Q Series. The cab-over first generation of 1959 carried a 1.5 litre gasoline engine, and a 2.0 litre diesel followed in 1960, a first for its class in Japan. Seven generations have followed, including the front-wheel drive Mi-Pack of 1972 and the fourth generation of 1984, which was exported widely and built in several countries. In the United States it was sold as the Isuzu NPR and as the Chevrolet and GMC W-Series, and it has also been rebadged as a Bedford, a Nissan Atlas, a Mazda Titan and, in Europe, the Isuzu Grafter. Many Elfs are converted into microbuses, and a seventh generation with an electric version was presented in 2023.
