The Indian Chief is a motorcycle model built by the Indian Motocycle Company beginning in 1922, at the time one of America's leading motorcycle brands alongside Harley-Davidson. Known for its heavyweight V twin engine and, on later models, distinctive full skirted fenders, the Chief remained in production until the original company's closure in 1953, and the name has since been revived by later owners of the Indian trademark.
