Honda VF750F Interceptor

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda designed and produced the VF750F V45 Interceptor, also called the RC15, a street and sports motorcycle, from 1983 to 1985. It has an 86 hp liquid-cooled four-stroke V4 engine with dual overhead cams in a steel perimeter frame, and a half fairing. The V4s were started a year before with the 1982 Magna VF750C and Sabre VF750S, but were adapted for the VF750F in 1983 by reducing the six-speed transmission to five speeds because of the change from shaft drive to chain. New AMA Superbike class regulations required four-cylinder bikes to be downsized from 1000 cc to 750 cc, creating the first Japanese repli-racer, the 1983 Honda Interceptor. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into one generation: the RC15 (1983 to 1985 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
