Honda Valkyrie

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

Honda manufactured the Valkyrie from 1997 to 2003, named the GL1500C in the US market and the F6C, for Flat Six Custom, in other markets. The idea of an American cruiser-styled motorcycle with a flat six engine came from Josef Boyd, and its 1,520 cc liquid-cooled horizontally opposed engine was shared with Honda's fourth-generation Gold Wing. It was made at the Marysville, Ohio, plant. The Valkyrie Rune limited edition followed in 2003 and a redesign of the GL1800 Gold Wing was reintroduced as the Valkyrie for 2014. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 3 generations: the GL1500C, F6C (1997 to 2003 model years); the Rune (2003 to 2004 model years); the NRX1800 (2014 to 2015 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
