The second generation Spirior was revealed as a concept at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, a preview of the production model exclusive to China due by the end of 2014, which Honda's joint venture with Dongfeng produced. Besides the base 2.0 L R20Z8 i-VTEC engine mated to a CVT, it was Honda's first mainstream sedan to combine a 2.4 L K24Z5 Earth Dreams engine with an in-house 8-speed DCT in China.
