Honda showed the second-generation Fit, chassis GE and GG, at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show on 17 October 2007, and the car then collected Japan's Car of the Year Award for the second time. It offered a longer wheelbase than its predecessor and is wider and longer overall, with a 1.3 liter and a 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine, and the hybrid version launched in October 2010 in Japan. For the first time it was also available in a station wagon body style called the Fit Shuttle, only in Japan. In North America the first generation continued for the 2008 model year and the second generation was a 2009 model. Each model year of this generation has its own page.
