Honda EV Plus

Automobiles

Honda built the EV Plus as an experimental electric vehicle, the first battery electric car from a major automaker that did not use lead acid batteries. Honda built and released about 340 EV Plus cars. Production of the EV Plus was discontinued in 1999 after Honda announced the release of its first hybrid electric vehicle, the Honda Insight. The EV Plus served to test advanced battery chemistry in an electric car and also met California Air Resources Board requirements for zero-emission vehicles. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into one generation: the single generation (1997 to 1999 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
