The Grumman XTSF was a proposed twin-engined torpedo scout aircraft designed by Grumman for the United States Navy toward the end of World War II. It was based on the F7F Tigercat fighter but enlarged, with a bomb bay and a second seat for a radar operator, and it was meant to replace the XTB2F, which was judged too big for carriers. Grumman submitted the G-66 design in June 1944 and the Navy modified the XTB2F contract on 17 August 1944 to order two XTSF-1 prototypes. A cockpit and centre fuselage mockup was inspected in the fall of 1944, but the contract was terminated in January 1945 because the XTSF-1 was also judged too large, and the Navy took the single-engined XTB3F, the AF Guardian, instead. It was the only aircraft ever designated in the torpedo scout category.
