Grumman EA-6B Prowler

Military Aircraft

The Grumman EA-6B Prowler, later built under the Northrop Grumman name, was a four-seat, twin-engined electronic-warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder. It enlarged the Intruder cockpit to carry a pilot and usually three electronic countermeasures officers, and added an integrated jamming system; it could also fire anti-radiation missiles such as the AGM-88 HARM. The EA-6B first flew on 25 May 1968 and entered regular carrier service in July 1971. It was operated by the United States Marine Corps and Navy from 1971 until 2019, and the Marines retired their last aircraft on 8 March 2019.
