The Gloster TC.33 was a large four-engined biplane designed for troop carrying and medical evacuation in the early 1930s, and the only four-engined aircraft Gloster ever built. It was built to Air Ministry specification C.16/28, which called for 30 troops to be carried 1,200 miles. The single-bay biplane had four evaporatively cooled Rolls-Royce Kestrel engines in two nacelles, each holding a tractor and pusher pair, and a smooth metal-skinned fuselage with a heated, soundproofed cabin. It first flew on 23 February 1932 and handled pleasantly but took off poorly at full load, so the Air Ministry placed no order and only one was built.
