The Gloster Goral was a single-engined, two-seat biplane built to Air Ministry specification 26/27 for a general-purpose military aircraft in the late 1920s. The specification encouraged reuse of surplus Airco DH.9A wings and a metal airframe for overseas service, and at least eight manufacturers responded. Gloster built an all-metal framed, fabric-covered biplane with two-bay DH.9A wings and an uncowled 425 horsepower Bristol Jupiter VIA radial, and the pilot sat ahead of a gunner with a ring-mounted gun. It first flew in February 1927 but lost the contest to the Westland Wapiti and only one was built, despite Argentine interest as late as 1931.
