Fiat 673

The Fiat 673 was a polyvalent medium-tonnage lorry built by the Italian maker Fiat V.I. from 1970 in Italy, from 1974 in Argentina and from 1976 in Brazil. It replaced the Fiat 643 and was the first medium truck of the 600 series to receive the new Fiat cab called the American cab, because it was launched first by Fiat Argentina. It kept the very robust chassis of the 643 but inherited the OM CP 3 engine of 7.4 litres, which could overheat in the mountains when trucks were overloaded. It was offered as a rigid carrier and as a semi-trailer tractor in a single series and stayed in production in Italy for four years, until the Fiat 160 with the unified H cab replaced it. Production then moved to Argentina, where it was known as the Sallustro.
