Fiat 619

Trucks and Commercial Road Vehicles

The Fiat 619 was a multi-purpose truck and semi-trailer tractor built from 1964 to 1980 as part of the Fiat V.I. family of heavy vehicles. It was meant to replace the Fiat 682, which stayed in production until 1984 partly because of demand from Africa. The first generation came as the 619 N chassis truck and the 619 T road tractor, both with the moustache shaped baffo cab, nicknamed pico de loro in South America where it was built until 1994. From 1970 the second generation 619 N1 and T1 had the roomier Fiat H cab and a 12,883 cc engine of 210 horsepower, later a 13,798 cc unit of 260 horsepower. Popular in northern Europe, it became known as the export truck, and it was also sold as a Unic and a Magirus-Deutz.
