Military Aircraft

The Eurodrone, formally the European Medium Altitude Long Endurance Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, is a twin-turboprop uncrewed aircraft being developed by Airbus, Dassault Aviation and Leonardo for the air forces of Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The programme is managed by the European procurement agency OCCAR, with Airbus Defence and Space coordinating the major subcontractors and final assembly planned at the Airbus site at Manching. It is meant for long-endurance intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and for ground support with precision-guided weapons, and it is powered by two General Electric Catalyst turboprops. The development and production contract of February 2022 covers 20 systems of three aircraft each, with the prototype first flight expected by mid-2027.
