The Eurocopter EC130, now the Airbus Helicopters H130, is a single-engine light utility helicopter developed from the Eurocopter AS350 Ecureuil, whose main change was an enclosed Fenestron tail fan in place of a conventional tail rotor. The first prototype flew on 24 June 1999 and the type was produced by the Eurocopter Group, later rebranded Airbus Helicopters. It is powered by a Turbomeca Arriel 2D turboshaft engine and has a wide cabin with seating for a pilot and six passengers in its standard layout, and it has been used for tourism, air medical services, law enforcement and cargo work. By May 2008 it had overtaken the Bell 206 as the best-selling single-engine rotorcraft on the market.
