The DS 5 is a hatchback with shooting-brake styling, developed by Citroën and launched in Europe in November 2011 as the third model of the premium DS sub-brand. It was first sold as the Citroën DS5 and relaunched as the DS 5 without Citroën badging in 2015. It is 4,530 mm long and 1,871 mm wide and sits on the PF2 platform shared with the Peugeot 3008, not on the C5 platform its name might suggest. The cabin is inspired by aircraft cockpits, with a head-up display and a console mounted on the roof. Buyers could choose a turbocharged petrol engine, two diesel engines or the Hybrid4 diesel-electric system, which made the DS5 the first production car with a diesel electric hybrid drivetrain. The 2005 Citroën C-SportLounge concept car prefigured it.
