Dornier Do P

Military Aircraft

The Dornier Do P was a German four-engined heavy bomber built by Dornier Flugzeugwerke around 1930 as part of the secret rearmament of Germany in defiance of the Treaty of Versailles. Construction began in July 1929 and the first flight took place on 31 March 1930, with testing carried out at places such as Lipetsk. It was a monoplane built mainly of metal and partly covered in fabric, powered by four nine-cylinder Siemens-built Jupiter VI radial engines of 530 horsepower each, and carried a crew of six. It was eventually developed into the Dornier Do 11.
