Dixi T 7

Automobiles

The Dixi T 7 was an early car of the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach, built from 1904 to 1907 under the Dixi marque that replaced the Wartburg name in 1904 after the founder Heinrich Ehrhardt left the firm. It had a single-cylinder engine of 1,234 cc, unlike the four-cylinder engines of the newly developed Dixi models of that period, and a postcard of 1905 shows one in period use. The T series of Dixi types also included the T 12, T 14, T 17, T 20 and T 25, built from 1904 to 1914. The Dixi name later became famous through the licence-built Dixi 3/15, and BMW kept it until 1932 after taking over the Eisenach works in 1928.
