Dixi S 1

Automobiles

The Dixi S 1 was the first type of the S series built by the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach after the firm changed course in 1903 and 1904. A history of the works explains that the letter S came from the initial of chief designer Willi Seck and became the type designation of a model family that began with the S 1. The German list of Dixi models dates it from 1903 and gives no end year. It belongs to the first cars sold under the Dixi name, a Latin word meaning I have spoken, which replaced the earlier Wartburg marque once Heinrich Ehrhardt had left the company. The sources read for this entry state no engine size or power for the S 1, so none is claimed here.
