Dixi 6/18 PS (G1)

Automobiles

The Dixi 6/18 PS, known by its type letter as the G1, was a passenger car of the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach built from 1921 to 1923 under the Dixi marque. It came out in the year the firm, short of money, merged with the Gothaer Waggonfabrik and traded for a time as a branch of that company, and it opened the G series, which reached 2,260 cars by 1928. It was followed in 1923 by the 6/24 PS G2. The G series was the Eisenach firm's main product before the Dixi 3/15, the licence-built Austin 7 that began in 1927 and brought the name lasting fame, and a photograph taken in 1922 survives.
