The Denza Z9 is an executive car marketed by Denza, a brand owned by the Chinese manufacturer BYD Auto. It was introduced in April 2024 at the Beijing Auto Show and is sold as a five-door shooting brake, or station wagon, called the Z9 GT, and as a more traditional four-door sedan, each with plug-in hybrid and battery electric powertrains. Wolfgang Egger, BYD's global design director, led the design, and a Denza executive said the Z9 GT targets European rivals such as the Porsche Panamera and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Prices were announced in China on 20 August 2024 and sales began a month later. The plug-in hybrid has a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine and three electric motors with 640 kilowatts in total and reaches 100 kilometres per hour in 3.6 seconds, while the electric version has 710 kilowatts and does it in 3.4 seconds.
