The Denza N8, together with the earlier Denza X that it replaced, is a plug-in hybrid and battery electric mid-size and full-size SUV from Denza, the brand that began as a joint venture between the Chinese automaker BYD Auto and Mercedes-Benz. The Denza X was first shown at the Guangzhou Auto Show in 2019 as a seven-seat crossover based on the second-generation BYD Tang, designed with help from the Mercedes-Benz design team. It sold from 2019 to 2021, gained little popularity and left the market at the end of 2021 after Mercedes-Benz withdrew from the venture. The first-generation N8, a facelifted Denza X using DM-p hybrid technology and the e-platform 3.0 structure, returned in 2023 as a five- to seven-seater large crossover. A second-generation five-seat N8 was revealed on 10 July 2026 with a battery electric drivetrain, a 30-inch dashboard display and up to 1,003 kilometres of CLTC range.
