The Dennis Domino was a step-entrance midibus chassis built by Dennis in Guildford in 1984 and 1985, in effect a scaled-down single-decker version of the Dominator and a forerunner of the Dart. It came about in 1983 when Greater Manchester PTE needed to replace the Seddon Pennine midibuses on its Piccadilly to Victoria shuttle and asked Dennis for a solution. The Domino used a very short Dominator frame with a transversely mounted 5.7 litre Perkins T6.354 turbocharged engine, an Avon Maxwell automatic transmission, air suspension and power steering. Only two customers bought it: Greater Manchester Transport took 20 with Northern Counties bodies and South Yorkshire PTE took 14 with Optare bodies. A few survive in preservation.
