The Commer FC was a forward-control commercial vehicle built by Commer from 1960 to 1976 and developed into the Commer PB in 1967 and the SpaceVan in 1974. It was offered in many body styles, including a 1,500 cc van, and used a Hillman-derived four-cylinder petrol engine, first at 1,500 cc and later 1,600 cc and 1,725 cc, with a Perkins 4108 diesel as an option. Its rounded forward-control body sat on a narrow front track inherited from Humber car suspension, and the four-speed gearbox came from the Hillman Minx and later Rootes Arrow cars. After the Rootes Group was bought by Chrysler the SpaceVan was also sold under the Dodge, DeSoto and Fargo names, and from 1976 only as the Dodge SpaceVan, which stayed in production until 1983 largely because of its use by the Post Office. Todd Motors also built the van in New Zealand until 1974.
