The Commer Cob was a 7 cwt delivery van introduced in early 1956 by Commer, based on the Hillman Husky, which was itself a derivative of the Hillman Minx Mark VIII. When new Cob and Husky models were introduced in 1958 they were based on the Audax Hillman Minx, and the Cob was in effect the panel van version of the Husky sold through the Commer commercial vehicle operation of the Rootes Group. It shared its basis with a family estate car, and Commer was part of the Rootes Group.
