The Citroen Dyane is an economy family car that the French maker Citroen produced from 1967 to 1983. It kept the underpinnings of the 2CV but received almost entirely new body panels with straighter, more angular lines, a large rear hatchback and front wings that absorbed the headlights. Aimed a little above the 2CV and below the Ami, it was Citroen's answer to the Renault 4. Its first styling proposal was subcontracted to the Panhard design department under Louis Bionier, because the in-house team was busy with the DS and Ami. A panel van, the Acadiane, was derived from it, and nearly 1.45 million Dyanes were made alongside some 250,000 Acadianes.
