The Citroën C5 X is a mid-size crossover SUV that Citroën has built since June 2021, reusing a nameplate from the earlier C5. The X stands for crossover, and the car is styled as an estate with extra ground clearance, aimed at buyers who want something between an SUV, a saloon and an estate. It follows the 2016 CXperience concept, though it is shorter and narrower, and it sits on the EMP2 V3 platform shared with the Peugeot 408. A plug-in hybrid sharing technology with the Peugeot 508 gives about 63 km of electric driving in four modes, and two petrol engines were also offered. In China it is sold as the Dongfeng Citroën Versailles C5 X. It won Best Large Car at the Women's World Car of the Year in 2023, and was dropped in Britain and Ireland in May 2025.
