The Citroën 5CV, first called the 5HP and officially the Type C, was a light car that Citroën made from 1922 to 1926, with almost 81,000 built. It was the company's second model after the Type A and the B2, and the first small car the firm sold. It was shown in November 1921, had only a two-seat torpedo body at first, was 3.2 metres long and came with electric starting and lighting. Its first paint was a pale yellow that earned the nickname little lemon, and the rounded tail gave it the name boat tail. A cabriolet followed in 1923, and a three-seat torpedo and a van in 1924. The advertising aimed at women was unusual at the time. By 1924 it made up half of the firm's sales, but it earned too little, and production ended in May 1926 to make way for the all-steel B14.
