Chrysler VIP

Automobiles

The Chrysler VIP was an extended-wheelbase luxury variant of the Australian-developed Chrysler Valiant, produced by Chrysler Australia from 1969 to 1971. The Valiant V.I.P. was offered as a four-door sedan and a Safari station wagon, each with a 273 cubic inch V8 engine. The VE Valiant V.I.P. replaced the VC Valiant V8 as the top of the range, and the V8 engine was by then optional across the VE range, which prompted the change of name. The sedans and wagons used the same three horizontal chrome stripes on the rear guards as the VC V8, the wagon had an electrically operated tailgate window, and the VF series, from May 1969, was marketed as the VIP by Chrysler without the Valiant name.
