The Chrysler Valiant VH was built by Chrysler Australia from June 1971 to March 1973, replacing the VG, and was the first Valiant of a uniquely Australian design. It had an entirely new body, larger and roomier than the VG, and sedans and wagons arrived in June 1971, followed by the Charger coupes in August, coupe utilities in September and two-door hardtops in November. The hardtops rode on a 115 inch wheelbase, four inches longer than the sedans and wagons, and a 340 cubic inch V8 was fitted to the Charger 770SE E55 released in October 1972.
