The Chrysler Valiant SV1, or S Series, was the second Australian Chrysler Valiant, built by Chrysler Australia from March 1962 to April 1963 and introduced only ten weeks after the RV1 it replaced. The boot lid lost its non-functional spare wheel moulding and round tail-lights replaced the oblong units, and a steering-column gearshift replaced the floor shifter, though automatic cars kept push-button controls. It was offered only as a four-door sedan in two models, the SV1-2 manual and the SV1-4 automatic, and 4,513 manuals and 5,496 automatics were built.
