The Chrysler Valiant AP6 was the fourth Valiant built in Australia, produced by Chrysler Australia from 1965 to 1966. Released in March 1965, it was based on the 1965 Plymouth Valiant with local styling carried over from the AP5, a new split grille and indicators in the grille. It brought a redesigned camshaft, self-adjusting brakes and a conventional gear lever for automatics. A coupe utility, the Valiant Wayfarer, was added in April 1965, the first Valiant-based ute from Chrysler Australia, and V8 models with a 273 cubic inch engine followed in August 1965. Ten models were offered and 43,344 were built.
