The CRH380A is a Chinese high-speed trainset developed by CSR Sifang for China Railway High-speed service, introduced around 2010 as part of the CRH380 generation built to raise operating speeds on China's expanding high-speed rail network, most prominently the Beijing-Shanghai line. During testing a CRH380A set reached a recorded speed of more than 480 kilometers per hour, among the fastest ever achieved by a conventional wheeled train, and the type entered regular commercial service at a lower cruising speed, becoming one of the most widely deployed trainsets on China's high-speed corridors.
