The Caproni Vizzola C22 Ventura was a light jet-powered aircraft developed in Italy as a military trainer. It followed a conventional sailplane layout and looked something like the Caproni Calif gliders, although its structure was almost entirely metal. Student and instructor sat side by side under a wide canopy, there were weapons hardpoints under each of the slender, high-mounted wings, and the undercarriage was a retractable tricycle. The C22J trainer was shown at the Farnborough Air Show in 1980 and September 1982 but found no customers. After Agusta bought half of the programme in 1981, a reconnaissance version, the C22R, was proposed for forward air control and electronic intelligence work, but it was never built.
