The Caproni Ca.135 was an Italian twin-engine medium bomber designed at Bergamo by Cesare Pallavicino, the project chief at Caproni Aereonautica Bergamasca. It came out of the Regia Aeronautica R-plan to modernize Italy's air force, and it was one of the winners of a bomber competition held in late 1934, with 204 aircraft ordered. The prototype first flew in 1936, on 1 April. The type entered service with the Peruvian Air Force in 1937 and with the Regia Aeronautica in January 1938, and it was also flown by Hungary; about 115 were built. It resembled the Caproni Ca.310, with a rounded nose, low-slung fuselage and wings of very long chord.
